Frequently Asked Questions

First of all, thank you for being here; it takes so much courage to take this first step. Please don't worry, feeling unsure is completely normal and there is zero stress here. That is exactly why I offer free 15-minute consultations.
It is just a brief, casual chat where we can talk about what brings you to therapy and see if we feel like the right fit for one another. You can send me a message through the contact form, or by clicking BOOK NOW at the top of the page.
-
If we decide during our 15-minute consultation that we are a good fit to work together, our next step is to schedule your first full session (our intake block).
Before that session, you will receive a secure link to a few standard online intake forms so you can fill them out comfortably at your own pace. In our first official session, we won't dive straight into the heavy things right away. Instead, we will spend time mapping out your goals, exploring your history, and creating a comfortable, low-stimulation roadmap for your healing journey.
-
Because therapy is tailored entirely to your unique story, there is no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some clients find clarity and relief within a few months, while others prefer ongoing, long-term support.
To build momentum and establish a strong sense of safety, I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions. As you begin to feel more grounded and achieve your goals, we can gently transition to bi-weekly or monthly check-ins. We will check in regularly to make sure the pace feels right for you.
-
I do not offer direct billing to insurance companies. When you sign up through Jane, a secure booking platform, you will safely add a credit card to your profile. Payment is automatically processed at the end of each session, and an official receipt will be emailed straight to you. Payment through E-transfer is also available. You can then submit this receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Because benefits vary widely, I highly recommend checking with your provider prior to our first session to confirm that your plan covers services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a specialized, evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain naturally heal from stressful or traumatic past experiences without you having to talk about them in intense detail.
You absolutely do not have to do EMDR if you don't want to. It is simply a powerful tool in my toolkit. We can stick entirely to traditional, gentle talk therapy, or we can integrate EMDR at a pace that feels completely safe and supportive to you.
